Custom Maple "Hip Gig" Kit w/ DW Hardware

One of my favorite projects, built from scratch and modeled after Yamaha's hip gig kit.  I used Keller maple shells and lightly tinted them with yellow dye, then gave them 6 coats of polyurethane.  I used all DW hardware.

Sizes:

18"x18" Kick (or 18"x14" w/ front section removed)

10"x7" Hi-tom

14"x10" Lo-tom

I used this kit for several years and got lots of compliments on its warm, punchy sound.  It was so compact for gigging.

Another "should have kept", but eventually sold it to someone in the Pacific Northwest.  This variation of Yamaha's concept interested a lot of people - my auction had over 1200 visits and 8 bidders.
